Oh my Darling Borderline

In a mood swing, far from amusing,
all dosed up on fluoxetine,
between neurosis and psychosis,
lived my true love, Borderline.

I felt as awkward as any fool could
when my pretty porcupine
rolled up and clenched. This prickly wench
was my true love, Borderline.

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
oh my darling Borderline!
I was so passionately desirous
of a virus, Borderline.

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
oh my darling Borderline!
Her personality was in disorder
but I adored her, Borderline.

One cold November I sat and dreamt a
plan for sailing on the Rhine
in lederhosen. My knees were frozen,
but I asked, “Does that sound fine?”

She shouted, “Go back and get my Prozac
or I’ll break your legs and spine!
That’s it, go home! Leave me alone!”
and our lives no more entwine.

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
oh my darling Borderline!
A valley of silence and emotional violence
marked the strident Borderline.

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
oh my darling Borderline!
Her personality was in disorder
but I adored her, Borderline.

She treated Reason like it was Treason
and as I slaved to be benign
to her impairments, she told her parents,
“It’s all his fault and not mine!”

They were no talkers, they shouted “Stalker!
There’s no fault on our family line!
Our girl’s not mental, she’s perfectly gentle,
get lost or we’ll call nine-nine-nine!”

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
oh my darling Borderline!
My heart and mind broke in one slice,
she didn’t think twice, young Borderline.

Oh my darling, oh my darling,
oh my darling Borderline!
Her personality is still in disorder
but I adored her, Borderline.
